Our laboratory has just moved to The Centre for Neuroscience (CNS) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. We also have staff working at The Department of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali.
We are interested in understanding the molecules and signals underlying normal brain function. Many of the molecules and mechanisms required for the functioning of the nervous system are conserved between the free-living roundworm, Caenorhabditis elegans and higher organisms. We use C. elegans as the model organism to understand the molecular and cellular basis of normal brain function.
The lab is currently staffed by a principal investigator, a post-doctoral fellow, four doctoral students, and a lab technician.
